Fred has built and operated Domestic Heat-Power Systems, including an automatic unattended coal fired steam-electric co-generation system, operating for four years with only four forced outages. Reciprocating Uniflow Steam Expander developed and built for te Domestic Heat-Power System, Uniflow Steam Engines are the most efficient ever developed, and this engine design avoids oil contamination of condensate.
Fred developed 100% redundant feedwater pumping design, including boiler water level control with no moving parts whatsoever, plus emergency redundant low water level alarm/shutdown with no moving wetted parts.
